The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. The office location and dynamic were both great and I felt really welcome from the offset.
There were weeks when I was busy and had things to do but also weeks when I was left to my own devices so at those times, felt less valued by colleagues.
Similar to above, at times I was very much supported by my supervisors and knew exactly what I was doing but at other times, felt unsupported and a little lost.
Busyness, varied from week to week but the unfortunate thing was that there were weeks when I didn't have any project work going on because the sector was running low on projects.
I wasn't given very much responsibility.
I was opened up to a fair few additional software programmes which was really insightful and useful. Additionally I did receive training about the industry I was working in which was really interesting.
The Company
The office was extremely friendly. Even though there was a sense of people's busyness, they were still happy to offer to make tea and talk to me about what I was doing, and in return what projects they had been involved in, which was really encouraging and useful.
From the outset the placement was very well organised but a few events that came out of the blue meant that the last few weeks were a lot less structured.
I received training in the field that I was working in and also opportunities to find out what other colleagues had been working on for the last few months.
