The Role
It was very insightful and taught me a lot about the industry. The only drawbacks were not getting enough work due to it being low season.
Everyone took the time to get to know you and were always more than happy to help.
You could never ask too many questions, which offered a lot of relief as I had no background in accounting.
Some days I was debooked and didn't have anything to do, this meant I was often searching for work.
I was given just enough to stretch myself but not feel uncomfortable.
Although the skills aren't too relevant to my degree, they have definitely taught me a lot about the industry and the working world.
The Company
Everyone was friendly but when busy, it was very quiet.
There were times when I didn't have anything to do.
The firm gave me all the resources I needed and spent a lot of time equipping me with the software and setting me up on real tasks as if I worked there full time.
Flexi Time
Working from home
Employment prospects were good and I have accepted a graduate offer as a result of the internship.
The Culture
We always went out and interacted with our fellow interns as well as colleagues.
London will always be costly!
Expensive and difficult if you commute like myself.
Loads of sports and arts opportunities. I got involved with the EY foundation which offers volunteering.
