The Role
I really enjoyed making a real contribution to the department I was in. The support from my line manager and colleagues was very helpful and made me feel comfortable during my time there.
I felt very valued and was given the same support as colleagues already in the company.
My line manager ensured I was making the most of my placement and we had a weekly catch up meeting to see how I was getting on.
This varied depending on my workload. I always had something to be working on.
The responsibility I was given reflected how much time I had to do things, i.e if my workload was running low, I was given more responsibility on projects and also if I was capable to do the required tasks.
I learnt invaluable presentation skills as well as time management which will help in my final year at uni.
The Company
The atmosphere was very chilled and promoted good teamwork. The open layout of the office allowed ease of communication.
There were a few delays in the HR aspects and initially getting set up but was I was stuck into my placement I found it very well structured.
I had to complete various e-learning modules which provided me with adequate knowledge of the company. I was also allowed to experience shadowing days of different departments to get an overview of the company.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I have been offered a position of the graduate scheme which I have accepted.
The Culture
Yes, there were many events where we could all get together and meet other interns.
I lived at home so costs were minimal, and social life in Birmingham is reasonably priced.
There is a very lively nightlife and always lots to do.
There were various charity days organised by the emerging talent team.
