The Role
I enjoyed my placement thoroughly as I was given great responsibility in my role and I got to meet senior employees of the company.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. Everyone was very welcoming and I have stayed in touch with some of my team since my internship.
We had weekly 121s and an end of internship review. Equally I would continually receive feedback as and when I completed it.
I was reasonably busy without being over worked. I was given specific tasks to complete over the course of my internship and I felt that I was given the right amount of work for the period that I was working for the company.
I was given great responsibility considering my limited experience. I got to meet with senior stakeholders and present in important meetings. All of this responsibility was great for building my professional confidence.
One of the main skills that I have developed through my summer internship was organisation. When you are given many different tasks for the same week then you have to be organised as to allocate your time efficiently. I feel that this will help me enormously with my final year of my degree.
The Company
At times it was relaxed and at times it was very studious. It was a real mix from day to day.
It was well organised from the first week to the last.
I engaged in many different training sessions over the course of the internship which has improved my skills greatly. Santander were very keen to train me in every way that they could facilitate which I felt was important as an internship is a learning opportunity.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I have been offered a graduate scheme with Santander due to my performance on the internship programme.
The Culture
There was a very good social scene amongst the students. Not so much with the colleagues.
I lived at home.
The nightlife was reasonably good.
Yes I managed to join the Santander football team and there were many charity events such as quizes.
