About You
This day was designed to celebrate Women in Professional Services and I really enjoyed the day. The day was very well organised and involved lots of opportunities to network with like-minded people and EY employees. I enjoyed listening to talks and it was refreshing to hear about the support given to women within EY.
All of the employees at EY I met made a real effort to make me feel welcome and valued. They provided me with plenty of valuable information throughout the day and answered any queries I had. During the networking sessions, we met students currently on placement within the firm and I found this useful to gain an insight from a students perspective.
We were given plenty of guidance from current employees who shared their own experiences and described their journey within EY. The talks were all very useful; in particular the session led by the HR team which gave me an insight into how to be successful during the application process for graduate programmes.
During the insight day, I feel as though I developed my communication, networking and interview skills. The day allowed us to focus on the transferable skills that will be of use in our future careers. I am currently considering applying for a graduate placement at EY because I thoroughly enjoyed the insight day.
The Company
This insight day was very well structured. In advance of the insight day, we were emailed an itinerary outlining the days activities. The day itself flowed well and I was provided with all of the information possible about the opportunities available. We had time to eat, drink, carry out all of the activities planned and also given time to network on several occasions throughout the day - which is always useful!
The general atmosphere was very relaxed and I felt comfortable talking to the current employees (despite their seniority!) I was very impressed with EY and I could sense a friendly, collaborative, inclusive and supportive culture. In light of this positive experience, I am considering applying for a placement at EY.
Hearing about the journeys of current EY employees was particularly useful in gaining an understanding of what is required from individuals within various roles. I feel like I gained a good overall impression of the firms culture, as well as an excellent understanding of the type of work I would be engaging in on a daily basis.
This insight day gave me a good understanding of EY's culture. Being given the opportunity to network with EY's employees was particularly useful in gaining an insight into the company culture as they shared their personal experience
We were given lots of information and insight into the service lines and roles available within EY. It influenced me to think about what I want out of a career and the type of company I want to work for. I need to research a little more about the roles available in order to decide which service line I want to pursue a career in.
Everything Else
Our insight day was more about networking than skill development. The opportunity to network with some of the companies most successful women was very valuable! So from this sense, the company invested a lot into us by giving us this opportunity. The HR department held a session to cover the application process and gave us hints and tips to help us be successful when applying for further graduate roles.
Very good. We were given lots of opportunities throughout the day to network with individuals within EY of varying seniority (partner to manager to students on internships). These networking sessions were very relaxed and I felt comfortable speaking to everyone and exchanging contact details. I found these sessions useful in gaining more insight about EY's culture and the day to day duties of individuals within various roles!
Absolutely. I found this insight day in London very worthwhile! It encouraged me to work hard and to consider applying for a graduate placement at EY. I would recommend it to anybody as it was a great way to explore the firm and find out about the industry in which EY operates. Experiencing the companies culture first hand is much more valuable than just reading reviews on websites.
