The Role
A challenging but welcoming environment. Everyone I met was very nice and helped me out when I needed it. The work was tough and engaging. After the first few days there was no point at which I had nothing to do.
Got on really well everybody. Towards the end as my competency was growing in certain areas I felt comfortable being delegated to and I believe my colleagues also felt confident that they could hand responsibility over to me. I feel I became part of the team very quickly.
At no point was I left floundering, nor was I spoon fed. This is ideal.
So busy.
Very little to start with. As time progressed and I completed progressively harder tasks I was given higher levels of responsibility and autonomy. I feel this was the right level and had I been with the company for longer I believe the trend would have continued in this manner until I needed very little help and was given very little safety net (obviously within reason) for the majority of tasks.
Its not so much the knowledge as the approach and the context. I see engineering problems from an engineering perspective now, as opposed to that of a student and it often helps me find solutions that my peers cannot see. The knowledge is also very helpful though.
The Company
Good balance of professionalism and camaraderie. I found that I really got on with everyone in my team and we could have a laugh but the atmosphere still allowed a high level of work.
First week's a bit slow but it has to be; otherwise great.
Really good. I received a lot of extra training as well as a weekly academy course on a Friday which teaches all you need to know about SMT.

I am going back this July for a year. I have looked into their Grad positions and they look brilliant.
The Culture
Yes, great. We met up a lot and went out once or twice. I feel like we all really got on.
It's Oxford, so not good. It's offset by the good pay though.
Again Oxford so not great, but I'm sure of you're into that you can find something.
Oxford has quite a few good Rowing clubs, there are gyms all over the place and I know a lot of people at work are into their football. Also being such a big city I'm sure there would be something for everyone.
