The Role
I found the placement very interesting and useful. It helped me build up my confidence, provided me with the chance to apply my knowledge into practice and I had worked with a very lovely and friendly team of staffs.
My colleagues were very friendly and supportive. We worked like a family where people care of each other and they were very understanding.
My pharmacy tutor was very good at explaining things to me. She also provided me with the sources of information that I could look into to find the answers for my questions. She mostly looked after me, realised my weaknesses and tried to help me overcome them.
People came into the pharmacy during some particular periods of time so there was time when I was very busy serving the customers and vice versa. However, when there were not many customers, I usually spent time reading books and learning more about the medicines so that I could make the most of my time at work.
The staffs did not expect me to do everything but I was very responsible for my tasks and I appeared to be reliable enough for receiving harder tasks.
In this placement, what I learnt was not just about the academic knowledge but also the social life of people. I learnt how to make tea and coffee, I learnt how to cooperate with people, how to be sociable and friendly. I also learnt how to develop communication skills with others, which is very important for a future pharmacist.
The Company
The atmosphere was quite nice. Each person had to do their own job but we got along very well.
The placement was well organised so that I could have a basic overview of everything in a community pharmacy.
I was provided with the workbook, the name badge, the training information, all of the essential books and references sources need. So I think that it was quite good enough.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I think that Lloydspharmacy is a very good company so I would come back to them if I have chance.
The Culture
They are very nice, sociable and caring. I also added the facebook of them and left my contact information so that we could keep in touch later.
It's about normal cost, not very cheap but not very expensive.
I don't go out at night very often.
I have lots of free times on the weekends to get involved in many activities such as the festivals, the confessions and so on.
