The Role
I enjoyed my placement as I had chance to learn on my feet rather than just using books
I was asked for advice on over the counter sales when the pharmacist was busy or otherwise engaged
I was told what was expected of me and was then included in what I wanted to achieve through my placement with the support necessary to complete my aims
The shop was very busy, there was never a spare or bored moment as there was constantly things that needed to be done
I was involved in completing the walk in prescriptions on a daily basis and also given the responsibility of mentoring a new member of staff through their basic training whilst the pharmacist was on holiday
I have learnt how to efficiently manage a team by observation with different pharmacists and I now know how I would run a shop myself to its maximum efficiency
The Company
As it was very busy, people kept their head down whilst still managing to converse and get on with each other
It was well organised to an extent, however the booklet told me to access the one portal training which I could not do without an employee number which I never recieved
The company invested time and money in me to ensure that my placement was fulfilling and educational
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I would like to work for the company in the future as I believe that the pre-reg and after registration training are second to none
The Culture
Everyone seemed to get on in each department
The area I worked in was a retirement village with no shops
There is no nightlife in holmes chapel
Yes I was involved in a regional training day at the Manchester airport
