The Role
I really enjoyed the variety of challenges within the placement and the chance to work on tasks that I felt passionately about such as Fashion Week.
It wasn't always clear how well you did after completing a project. I thought that our mid year review was very good but until then I didn't really know how well I was doing and would have liked more feedback so I could have improved skills earlier on.
I was given lots of support from my team and they were all very friendly. However, my boss was under huge amounts of pressure and this sometimes meant that we could have had additional support.
I always had lots of tasks to get on with and never had a day where I was stuck with what to do.
A lot, which was great as it really pushed us and made me a better worker.
I feel so much more prepared for work after university and really think all my skills learnt are transferable.
The Company
Friendly, busy and sometimes stressed.
I believe I had an excellent boss so it was very organised due to her input, but I feel some aspects of the actual placement were not. We had a social sec that left within 3 months and then didn't get replaced until a few months before the placement ended. I felt that this meant the interns were not as close.
I went on extra courses and team development sessions that were all valuable.

L'Oreal is an exciting place to work for, however due to the fact that they are behind digitally is offputting.
The Culture
Our team with interns included were very social but the wider group of interns were not as social due to minimum activities organised by the company
Very very expensive! I still relied on my parents to give me some money each week which I would prefer not to do. If it wasn't paid then I couldn't have had this opportunity.
Very good.
This wasn't highlighted to us unless our team organised something.
