The Role
Absolutely loved my internship with L'Oreal - had a sense of responsibility from Day 1 and feel I developed my skills and confidence throughout the year with the support of my team and line manager.
Felt valued by team and colleagues - felt like one of the team and not treated as an intern.
Given lots of support by line manager and team in particular. Would reward you for good work and help you if you were struggling.
Would vary depending on time of year and projects that I was working on. Some days would be full on and have a lot of things to do whereas others would be quieter when you can catch up on things you have left when you were in your busy period.
A lot of responsibility given from day 1 - trusted to go ahead with projects and receive support from your manager and team to do so. After a few months, I felt confident doing it without any support or guidance.
Definitely learnt skills for life- how to work with people, how to get people to do things you want them to do, improved confidence in public speaking, project management, team work. Learnt skills that will be useful in any job in the future.
The Company
The office was fun and friendly - open plan office meant that there was a lot of freedom and able to chat to anyone around.
Really good - had a dedicated team that could answer any questions you had or support you with any queries. Provided us with socials to get to know each other and were always there if we needed any support.
Could benefit from many online training courses such as public speaking live and marketing live. A whole interactive e learning portal which was free and could use any time I wanted.

Would love to return to L'Oreal as had an amazing year and learnt many skills.
The Culture
Lots of social activities - had a social secretary that organised events for us but due to there being over 100 interns, we always had the option to go out or socialise with people.
Quite expensive as it is in London but Hammersmith is a lot cheaper than Central London so it was a lot easier to go out.
Would need to go in to Central London for the best nightlife but was very quick and accessible to get there.
Opportunity to join sports teams.
