The Role
I wasn't necessarily placed in the right department for my interests. I was expecting the work to be more technical, but instead was doing a lot of customer research and project management type tasks
After my colleagues came to know me, they gave me responsibilities and valued my contribution.
My supervisor was fantastic and always ready to help with anything.
Depending on the day, sometimes I had absolutely nothing to do and other days went by so fast because I had workshops or meetings or other pressing tasks.
Towards the end of the placement I started receiving more responsibility, which was good.
I developed a few transferable skills about business practice and excel. The most valuable skill I learned however is writing apps on Matlab.
The Company
Despite a few internal feuds, everyone was really welcoming and lovely.
This was my second placement at JLR and they had definitely improved some of the organisational aspects year on year.
There was a large array of available training.
I am returning for a further placement next year and then may be offered a graduate scheme most likely.
The Culture
The social scene amongst interns is great.
Coventry is very cheap.
Kasbah is the greatest night club in all of the midlands, but Birmingham is close too.
The graduate community offered weekly activities but undergraduates organised things amongst themselves as well.
