The Role
I really enjoyed my time working at GSK, I got to apply the skills that I had learnt at university and experience many different projects.
I felt really valued by my colleagues as I was completing important work on their behalf.
I was well supported and providence with guidance in the projects that I worked on by management. They really helped me develop my skills and abilities.
Some days were a lot busier than others but overall there was plenty of work to do and there was always work that people needed help on.
As the site I was working on was a production facility I received responsibility that reflected my position, but was given responsibility in running a couple of projects.
I feel that my skills have really developed as a result of the placement and will assist me well in the future as I continue my studies.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was very positive and was a good working environment.
The placement was organised to a certain degree, but there were one or two instances where maybe further organisation would be required in the future.
The firm invested in my training and development by sending me to Belgium to experience a factory acceptance test.
Future employment prospects with this company would be very appealing in the future due to the support and opportunities GSK offer.
The Culture
The placement students mixed socially at work but not outside working hours.
As it was on the edge of London, the cost of living and socialising was quite expensive.
There wasn't a nightlife in the area in which I worked.
There wasn't any opportunities to get involved with activities outside of work.
