The Role
I very much enjoyed my placement as I worked with several different people who showed me something new and interesting each day.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. I helped them out when they had a heavy work load for which they were always very appreciative.
I was given a lot of support by the team I worked with. As an intern I obviously had several questions which they were all more than happy to answer. They also took time to explain certain things to me regarding my tasks when I needed help.
I was relatively busy most days. I helped a member of my team with his workload and so this meant I had something to do most of the time.
I feel I was given quite a good level of responsibility as I had the chance to liaise with suppliers and attend supplier meetings. My work/quote analysis was also taken into higher level management meetings and used.
This placement had helped me to understand the department of purchasing and the role of a buyer within a business. The training given to me I a sure will aid me in my career in purchasing.
The Company
Very friendly atmosphere. You could always find some one willing to help.
My workload was well organised, however there were several times I would need to find myself something to do.
The company invested a lot of time and resources into the placement students. We were give 4 days induction training and also the opportunity to attend several other training days throughout our time there.
Very appealing! I would really like to be offered the Purchasing Graduate Scheme starting in September 2016
The Culture
Many of the graduate employees arranged nights out/ lunches which we were always invited to.
I stayed at home in Birmingham during my placement, so no real change for me.
Stayed at home in Birmingham. Many employees decided to go out around Coventry but this is too far for me to get home from if not driving so I didn't attend.
Yes, there were many sports opportunities.
