About You
This was a very enjoyable experience and provided a good insight in to the firm and its practices. Good quality work experience was given within the department I was in. The added social element was also very good allowing employees of the firm and other students to mix.
Very well looked after at this firm. Absolutely no complaints.
Just enough support was given especially in terms of group exercises. Too much would have been counter productive. There was help and support on hand quickly if needed in terms of work given and staff very supportive.
This was a fantastic experience and has equipped me with knowledge that I would not have gained otherwise.
The Company
The structure was well organised and a good balance was achieved between preparation for group work and interview, work and social outings.
The atmosphere was good. Everyone working hard so it is a very quiet environment to work in, not a bad thing at all but may not be what some people expect. Outside the office on social events there was a good buzz amongst fellow students and employees of the company, all very chatty and friendly.
The firm offered me a training contract after my placement and I have great confidence in my future development with them.
The placement was a good snapshot of what life is like at CMS. Meeting other people who spoke about their own experiences with the company was very helpful.
Very much. There is a lot of hard work involved but it does not go unrewarded. The firm also has various internal network groups that represent all different interests (e.g. office social events, women's network) so everyone will be able to find something to suit them. It is a good supportive culture to be in and they invest well in their people.
Extremely valuable.
Everything Else
Yes. Employees from different practice areas provided talks and there were also opportunities to attend social events outwith the placement and networking events.
These were a really good way of meeting other students and getting talking to the employees of the firm. Graduate recruitment organised lunch and dinner out, drinks and there was also the chance to go out with your team for lunch or dinner.
The firm gives you the chance to participate in activities for their chosen charity, such as hillwalking, London to Paris bike ride and so on. There is also the CMS football world cup which they hold yearly which seems to prove popular.
Definitely.
