The Role
During my placement year I was involved in a variety of tasks and projects which gave me the opportunity to deliver real business impact. I would highly recommend anyone searching for a placement to consider JLR.
Extremely - I was the only intern in my department and was treated like a full time employee.
My managers were great at giving me guidance for improvement, and were always supportive when it came to my development and the work I was doing.
Busy! There was always something to be working on and there was always different stretch projects and extra things to get involved in.
I was given a great amount of responsibility on my placement. By the end of the year I was being acknowledged for managing projects just like any other full time employee would.
The skills I've developed will be invaluable for my final year at University and for future employment roles.
The Company
My colleagues at Solihull were fantastic! A great variety of team members with a mix of experience and new talent. All team members were passionate about their roles and were always prepared to offer guidance and support.
The placement was well structured. During the year we were required to complete mid year and end of year reviews with our managers - this was a great opportunity to receive positive feedback and areas for improvement.
An array of different training courses are available. I had regular 1:1 meetings with my line manager, she always provided me with feedback on my performance, provided me with guidance where needed and always challenged me so I could constantly grow and develop.

Placement students are offered graduate positions dependent on performance and hiring requirements. If the opportunity arises, I would love to return to JLR on a graduate scheme.
The Culture
Fairly reasonable.
Great - Birmingham has lots of bars, clubs and restaurants.
