The Role
It was a very involved job which kept me busy throughout the entirety of the placement.
We did a lot of team things such as meals, everyone got on really well and helped each other with pretty much everything. I genuinely felt like i was part of the team.
I was given a project and told to advance it by my own means, i liked the responsibility I was given. If i needed advice my manager was always around to help.
Generally I was always busy there were always projects which could be undertaken and this took most of my time. Occasionally there were times when i had no work although i could ask people in my team if they needed help and they would happily give me something to do.
I was given a multitude of projects to do in my time at JLR, they were used to improve things around the teams space and other projects used to improve efficency. I felt as though I was given a lot of responsibilty.
I learnt a lot about how real companies worked and i feel as though this has helped me realise what i want to do in the future. i learnt a lot of things about excel and google applications and this will help me keep my studies more organised.
The Company
It was quite serious however everyone was happy to talk, there was tea and coffee avaliable and a close kitchen. You were allowed to take small breaks often which really helped me keep my concentration up.
It was well organised in general however I had some issues personally as my manager changed position mid way through my placement. Other than that I had no significant problems.
I trained how to use the project management software within the company and how to create JLR way documents. There were extra curricular things which JLR fund however i never got around to doing them.

Working from home
The future prospects look good, generally if you do well on a placement you get offered a job, depending on a multitude of factors however.
The Culture
There was a graduate club which looked good, I am local however so already had a defined social group so apart from a few good workfriends i didn't search for any extra social scenes.
I live in Lexington spa and it is quite good, i lived in my university accommodation here which is around 85ish a week. Food and drink is reasonable with pints generally being around 3 pound, there aren't too many clubs on when it isn't uni term time however.
It was not in the uni term when i worked at JLR so it wasn't that busy, there is still a good amount of bars however clubs are generally less busy. You can go to Birmingham if you wanted to go out its an easy train journey.
There were lots of mails circulated detailing events around the work place. The graduate forum seemed to do a lot of stuff aswell however i was not a part of it.
