The Role
I had the most amazing experience at TJX Europe - gaining a real-life insight in to both the Merchandising and Buying Function.
You get treated just like a Graduate, with real and proper responsibility to drive your own business.
All of my Line Managers and immediate team were absolutely amazing! Whenever I felt out of my own depth they were happy to assist me with any difficulties.
The job role for me changed half way through the year - however, regardless as to whether I was in Merchandising or Buying, I always felt like a valued team member with lots of responsibility. At TJX you are in charge of driving your own development - so depending on how much you want to push yourself and grow further, the tools are there.
I was pleasantly surprised when I found out how much responsibility we were given as Placement students. It was amazing to be able to make an impact upon the business and really see how one's own initiatives helped to drive the business further.
There are so many skills I got to strengthen during my time at TJX. And getting the chance to work with such a great variety of people from different backgrounds open up so many new things which you can really bring with you back to your studies or further on in your career.
The Company
The TJX atmosphere is outstanding! Everyone is so friendly and outgoing!
Overall it was fantastic - I think the amazing thing with TJX is that you get to drive your own development and push yourself further. All of the tools and support is there for you, but you have got to be the initiator or pushing yourself and going that extra mile which is so rewarding.

I was offered a Job at the end of my Placement and will be returning!
The Culture
Placement Socials were organised a couple of times a year, where we got to mingle with the other in-takes, learn about each others experiences but also spend time with out Placement Mentor (in Merchandising: an experience Merchandiser and in Buying: an experience Buying Manager). We got to feedback re the programme itself and our individual experiences.
Overall really good!
Quite a few options in Watford, but also super close to London!
