The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement; the staff were polite and made me feel welcome and I felt involved with the daily tasks as a contributor.
All of the staff were very friendly and appreciated my contributions, asking me to do over time after placement had finished.
The manager was fantastic and we had regular discussions about my progress on the summer placement programme. The guidance given helped me to complete my workbook.
Although from time to time the work load and the pharmacy got very busy, I adjusted to the work environment and found the busy periods of the day more enjoyable as I had more interesting tasks to fulfil.
I was given a lot of responsibility as some days the pharmacy was short staffed and I would have to dispense hundreds of items daily to keep up with the constant income of express repeats.
The placement has made me so much more confident with the dispensing side of pharmacy and I am now more looking forward to my pre-registration year. I feel that from the knowledge that I have gained during the six weeks, I will find the course considerably easier and see relevance from textbook to in practice situations.
The Company
Everyone was friendly and conversational but yet very professional.
The placement was very well organised and I found the structure of the placement easy to follow.
As I already work for the company, I think that they very much invested a lot of knowledge in me and I am already putting it into practice at my permanent l branch.
Although I was already employed with the company, I have found overtime opportunities within the company and I am helping out wherever possible with Lloyds Pharmacy's in the area.
The Culture
Yes everyone was very sociable and I even met up with a fellow student from my university in the workplace.
