The Role
It was an absolutely fantastic year! I was given lots of interesting and relevant projects to work on and it's just a great working environment.
Everyone in my team was incredibly friendly and helpful which allowed me to settle in quickly. We had frequent team socials which helped to speed up the process of settling in.
I was given enough support to get my work done on time whilst still requiring me to think about the problem and come up with my own solutions without being told exactly what to do.
I was rarely bored due to lack of work and whenever the workload became too high I was given any help I needed in order to reduce my workload.
I was given full responsibility of my design section which allowed me to learn a huge amount and make a significant contribution to the project I was working on.
Going back to university after my placement, I found it is much easier to see how new theory can be used in real design situations and I now approach university projects in a much more logical manner. My grades so far have also increased significantly since returning from placement so I would definitely recommend taking a placement year!
The Company
There are many great people in the office and there's always something interesting happening!
Can't think of a single complaint - everything ran smoothly!
Every student in Design at Triumph is given extensive CAD training which is incredibly helpful and goes well beyond any university modules. In addition to this there are also loads of inductions and short training sessions covering a range of topics which are all incredibly helpful.
