    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Very enjoyable - no other students but a very close knit research and development team. All very sociable, warm and friendly, making sure I was comfortable and enjoying my time there.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was given a lot of recognition and rewards for when something was successful which greatly spurred me on to do better and made me glad to come into work every day!

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Brilliant support and guidance, they were always there when I needed help and advice with anything.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Quite busy - depended on day to day, availability of equipment and the nature of the research project. But mostly busy most days, though there was plenty of time made for tea breaks.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Initially a lot of responsibility in terms of QC, but the company changed as time went on and I began to focus more on my individual research project.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Laboratory skills, and working in a close knit team has greatly improved my skills in the lab for my final year. I have also developed a great deal of knowledge in the specific area I was researching which has helped with my research project this year.
