The Role
I 100% enjoyed working within the branch team, as well as most of the tasks I had to fulfill especially working with the customers. However on less busy days there wasn't always the amount of work hoped for.
Very much valued and looked after by management. All in order to perform and exceed the corporations expectations.
All levels of management showed a genuine interest in my personal development, was pleasantly surprised.
The busy days were enjoyable and more flexibility and trouble shooting skills were required, however as mentioned before, the less busy days dragged my overall rating down.
A great amount of responsibility was give to myself, especially during the first month. However once I got the hang of this all I had hoped for more challenging responsibilities. Still, there is the continues responsibility/pressure to sell and satisfy every customer.
Certainly skills for life, the experience involved all aspects of running a business and how to manage people, as well as how to deal with all sorts of customers and making sure they will come back.
The Company
The balance of work and having fun during work was perfect, yet being very professional. The great atmosphere in the branch enabled the team to excel.
I was surprised by the training week prior to the 'proper' work, this gave me the know-how to function relatively ok from the beginning onwards. Furthermore due to the training folder which cover all the aspects of running a branch e.g it is clear what to do next when completing a stage.
As mentioned before, they have a very good managed program to get the trainees/interns ready for the job as they would like to see you execute it. The branch manager was on top of how i was performing through various reviews and all.
Personally would like to get into other lines of business rather than working within the retail setting. When enjoying retail sales this certainly the perfect job.
The Culture
