The Role
I really enjoyed my placement, I was in a position that allowed me to have a lot of responsibility and a varying number of tasks. The best factor of my placement scheme was running the recruitment for the 2015-2016 industrial placement scheme. I was able to see the entire process from the other side and get a real sense of achievement out of the process.
Although I felt like a friend of the team I did sometimes feel like my contribute to the team and the work I did wasn't as valued or appreciated as much as I'd like it to be. For a while this was a challenge but the more confidence I got and with a new member joining the team I finally felt some value.
This was reasonable as I had university reviews I had to complete but I think if it hadn't been for this the actual support from my manager could have been a lot better. I felt like I was just expected to get on with it even when struggling.
Very busy. Working within the HR team meant that I had a lot of daily tasks that needed to be completed and was always busy. Especially when the industrial placement recruitment started I had to juggle the tasks involved for this and my daily tasks.
A lot of responsibility. I sometimes felt like I was given too much and that my role wasn't seen as it should have been. Overall I loved my placement as I learn a lot and met some great people but sometimes I felt my team forgot it was my first time in HR.
Mainly developed me in my future career and the degree choices I wanted to make. I have decided that I want to work within HR and has enabled me to pick employment law this year. I developed my presentation skills and confidence mainly.
The Company
Lack of motivation in the overall office. But in my specific team the atmosphere was friendly, sometimes a little two faced in that my team spoke a lot about each other behind their backs which was challenging but overall it as a good environment.
Very well organised the company has had industrial placement students for years. Good training scheme in place and a good handover within HR. All the managers and employees treat the industrial placement students as full time employees.
Received a number of training courses in areas I'd like to have developed. Would have liked to attend more training but the budget for industrial postmen students is limited so I was unable too.

No opportunity for me to return in my chosen field due to the nature of the team
The Culture
Yes very good. A majority the students lived together so did a lot of social events outside of work! Always had lunch together.
I lived at home so the cost for me was normal but if your from up north then the cost of the area (Bracknell) could be expensive in comparison.
Bracknell doesn't have any nightlife really but reading is close and has lots! Also there is good links to London and other towns so a lot of options.
For those employed by Panasonic UK yes as you have events, employees parities etc but for me employed by Panasonic Europe no not really.
