About You
I didn't want the week to end. I hope I get the opportunity to be a permanent part of the company.
The company culture was fantastic, everyone at Mace made me feel like they wanted me to be a part of it and the whole week was very engaging.
We were encouraged to always ask questions and they were happily answered by any employee, which improved the learning experience.
The week gave me clarity of exactly where I want to be and what I want to do. I learnt lot about the industry and Mace motivated me to work even harder at my degree to have a successful career with them.
The Company
A week is a very short time and Mace did an excellent job at making it a very diverse experience. I got a feel of every area of the company and how they all interlink with the business.
Everyone in my group had an excellent time, we all became very close and it allowed us to undergo that learning experience together. There was a perfect balance of professionalism and socialism.
A lot of time was spent educating us on the company and the industry as a whole, i.e different roles. We were also given guidance on 'how to do' a successful application, interview, assessment centre etc. As well as what we would be offered if we became a part of the company in the future.
I felt like I fit in perfectly and helped me decide that Mace is the company I want my career to be with.
You could tell the type of company were by the people they employ. People who are excellent with people, but know exactly where they want to be professionally combined with their ambition. It feels like everyone enjoys experiencing their journey together.
I knew I wanted a career in the construction industry. Following the insight week I knew I wanted to a Construction Manager with Mace and build my career with them.
Everything Else
I wasn't expecting to be reimbursed for anything so it was a nice gesture that they paid any expenses occurred, as well as our lunch every day.
We were given talks by employees from a range of roles and had the opportunity to ask any questions we had. We were also told we could contact them by email if we need anything in the future. Our one to one shadowing session was an excellent way to learn more about the role of our choice.
Educational and engaging.
Both charity and social.
It was an excellent opportunity and not only would I recommend the week I'd recommend a career at Mace.
