The Role
Plenty of interesting work, both hands on and office based.
Treated as an equal by all in the office.
Fantastic manager who was friendly and welcoming and allowed me to undertake the work I wished to.
During day shifts I worked regular hours and I also worked some night shifts (by choice). I really enjoyed the varied work and was kept busy thought the days. Towards the end I had to spend more time on admin work however this was to be expected.
Much better industrial perspective to my degree.
The Company
Friendly staff, all welcoming.
First day the staff were a bit unsure but otherwise well organised. A slightly lack of commutation with HR and my manager however led to some complications.
Offered a future summer placement after an interview and was encouraged to work towards CEng
National Travel
Above 25 days holiday
Travel loan
Fast track system onto graduate scheme with a good pay and perks.
The Culture
Made good friends with other interns and regularly met up with them.
London prices unfortunately. 50% of my salary went on rent.
London nightlife, plenty to offer. Prices were high however.
TfL did offer some sports clubs however I undertook my own sport.
