The Role
I really enjoyed my placement and found it very interesting although at times I found it frustrating that I was limited in what I was allowed to do.
My colleagues were all very helpful and friendly and didn't hesitate to answer one of my questions or make me feel like I fit in
My manager was supportive and frequently gave me the time to work through my workbook. I felt as though I could ask questions and that she took the time to try and teach me.
At the start I was a bit bored as due to my inexperience I couldn't really help out properly till I had been fully trained. However, once I was competant in the tasks that needed to be completed I was always busy and had plenty of opportunity toi use my initiative.
I was given responsibility to some extent as I was never under constant supervision and had tasks which I could readily complete on my own, however due to the legal nature of the job until I am qualified I would never have full responsibility as all scripts need to have a final check by the pharmacist
Everything I learnt on my placement will be helpful in my future career as all aspects of how a pharmacy works will be relevant when I am a pharmacist
The Company
There was friendly conversation and a comfortable atmosphere but as parts of the job require lots of concentration and checking of your own work there were times where you couldn't readily join in the conversation.
It was very well organised.
I was given a workbook with tasks and activities to complete and had my own pharmacist tutor who gave guidance when needed.
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I would work for Lloyds agauin without hesitation
The Culture
I was the only placement student in the pharmacy and it was only for 6 weeks solack of group social events with other students was to be expected
