The Role
I feel the placement has given me the opportunity to build on necessary skills such as team work and interpersonal skills in particular. However, I feel this is not something I would like to do as a career path although I would consider working for the company within a Graduate role doing a different job role.
A lot of help and support is given to placement students at CAT as well as been given your own responsibilities. My supervisor and other colleagues are always there for help, especially at the start of the industrial placement.
This can fluctuate day to day, hour to hour but this is because of the culture of being a material planner.
I had my own suppliers to look after- if there was anything that went wrong this would be my responsibility to ensure actions are being taken to get the parts to CAT when they are required.
Skills gained are definitely going to be useful within my last year of my degree and for future job roles.
