    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • My placement was very enjoyable. I was given many areas of responsibility for my position which had a real impact on business. This was pretty important for me because I could clearly see the impact of the work that I had done having an effect on business.

    • I felt very valued by all of my colleagues. I was treated exactly the same as everyone else which was important in my development. Also the work I was given was pretty important for the department.

    • Whenever I needed help with a task my managers would always assist when possible.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • I always had work to do during my placement. I had many different tasks to manage - some were year long projects others were monthly tasks. There was a vast range of work and projects in my workload which was very good for my development and organisational skills.

    • I was given a lot of responsibility. Some of the work I was managing was at a very high value to the department.

    • The main skills that are transferable to my degree would be organisation and time management skills.

    • The atmosphere was very good in the office - everyone was very friendly and easy going.

    • The placement was well organised and structured to my personal needs.

    • On a personal level I was given quite a lot of training - both domestically and internationally.

    • There are opportunities of future employment after leaving placement.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • No real social scene outside of work.

    • Living expenses were not too expensive in the midlands area.

    • I personally lived in the Staffordshire area. The nightlife was not really appealing.
