The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship, I was based in central West Africa, in Point-Noire, Congo. I was given plenty of responsibility from the first day and was always working on something new.
I always had everything explained to me by my colleagues and they helped me to understand everything, so I felt fully valued.
I was given a lot of advice and help when really needed, however there was also a lot of independant learning to be done.
I was extremely busy all day every day.
A lot, I was working on real jobs worth a lot of money, and there was a lot of pressure to have everything working how it should be as soon as possible.
It doesn't so much directly help me with my studies of Mechanical Engineering, however it does help me to know exactly what I want to and have to focus on in the bigger picture of further progressing my career.
The Company
Friendly, everybody wanted to be there, and offered help whenever needed.
Everything by management was extremely organised, prompt, and efficient, as we go lower down the chain towards the field engineers, it becomes slightly less organised as to be expected.
There were training days, health and safety presentations, malaria prevention talks and presentations and much more; a lot of money and time is invested into everybody within Schlumberger - intern or otherwise.

Extremely. There is complete ability for anybody with potential to climb there way up the ladder of Schlumberger.
The Culture
As good as could be expected for the line of work in the location given the work hours.
All subsidised by a meal allowance that more than covered the cost of all expenses whilst at location.
As good as could be expected from Central West Africa.
Same as previous answer.
