The Role
Felt thoroughly challenged each day.
At no point did I feel like an intern. I was always made to feel one of the team and was given responsibility from day one. Furthermore I was thoroughly impressed with the effort the business made to make you feel valued.
I was both given and made aware of opportunities etc. As well as being very aware of who to contact if I had any questions.
I was generally kept fairly busy with regular deadlines that needed to be met.
I was given huge amounts of responsibility, including presenting parts of our teams project to senior management.
The skills I have learnt have been very valuable and will (hopefully) prove very valuable in the remaining part of my degree and my future.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
Genearally very well organised.
The business invested large amounts of money in us.
Financial Bonus
I hope to be able to work at the bank upon graduation
The Culture
The social scene tended to vary. We would often grab a pint after work or meet up for lunch. However on occassions both myself and others were too tired or busy to be overly social.
Living and socialising are both fairly expensive in the city. The financial bonus the bank gave us helped with this. That said we didn't receive this 'living costs' sum until our first pay check which meant it did little to aid you in securing housing prior to the start date.
Nightlife was very good and always lively.
I would have like to have seen more opportunities to play sport internally. I'm sure these activites existed but were poorely advertised to us.
