The Role
My internship has been a very enjoyable and rewarding experience. It has been great to get an insight into the world of investment consultancy.
My colleagues gave me lots of work to do that involved me having a lot of freedom. They trusted me to send and draft important emails to clients and fund managers so I feel like a valued member of the team.
Any work I was given was explained thoroughly to me before I started it and any questions I had were answered. I was given as little or as much support as I needed.
My work load varied from day to day as with all jobs. Some days I had a lot of work to do and others not so much all-in-all I'd say it averaged out nicely. I never felt massively overworked or underworked.
I was given a lot of responsibility within my internship; I was trusted to send and draft emails to the client as well as fund managers and was given a lot of freedom with various tasks.
I am studying Mathematics and I think an Economics degree would be more related to the Investment practise. However, this internship has made me realise that I would prefer a career in Investment to one involving mathematics more heavily.
The Company
Everybody gets on well in the office and we go out on a lot of socials.
The internship was well organised with the exception of an administrative error at the beginning where I wasn't informed I'd have to stay in London for an extra day for training.
I had to attend various training sessions, often in London, which were paid for by the company to enhance my learning.

Company Parties/Events
I would love to be given a job with Aon Hewitt because their graduate scheme seems to offer a lot. However, I don't yet know if I will be offered a job.
The Culture
We often went out for meals at lunchtime as a team or to the pub after work. It has been really good to get to know the people I work with and to have formed friendships.
Bristol can be quite expensive but we seemed to strike a nice balance with how much we spent and how often.
Bristol is a great place to go out in. I really love it here.
There are lots of socials which are well varied to appeal to everyone. Bristol is also a great city so there are lots of things to do outside of work.
