The Role
I had a great pleasure to be a Well Services Engineer Summer Trainee in Schlumberger. In my opinion Schlumberger is an extraordinary company.
During my internship I was treated like member of the team. Atmosphere in segment where I was assigned to was just outstanding.
Whenever I had any problem or I did not understand something there always was someone I could ask for support. There was no problem with asking my mentors for guidance.
Basically how busy I were depended only on me. The more work I have done the more I learned, So I tried to do as much as possible. You can always ask for something to do so you will never get bored in Schlumberger. But understand me well, there was no problem with finding some time for coffee or lunch.
Since the day in which I have met my mentor I was assigned to normal work in the Company. In my opinion responsibilities you will be given if you would like to go for internship in Schlumberger are the same as for new employee,
Possibilities to acquire and consolidate knowledge were outstanding, even as petroleum engineer I was able to learn new practical things about oil industry that I had never heard of before on my University.
The Company
In Schlumberger you do not really felt like among co-workers, it is more like among friends who are outgoing and try to help you whenever you have any problems. All employees were really open and friendly to me, I could openly with no fear express my ideas, I believe that is because of work culture on the highest level.
Overally everything was organised very well. Company located me in hotel near headuarters, so there was no problem with wasting time for commuting. I was provided with personal protective equipment for work in workshops and with laptop for time in office. Internship was proceded by QHSE training.
Company investing mostly in your training. I allows you to develop new skills. Company paid for everything what was related to work and training.

The Culture
I had a chance to be in touch with other interns and I think I was able to find more than few friends among them.
