The Role
Varied work, acceptable work load, very interesring subject matter and great work environment.
Very valued. There were almost no menial tasks, collaboration was usually on ongoing projects.
In orderto receive support one needed only to ask. Anyone would make time for questions and help.
There was always something that needed to be done, especially because there was a good mix between short term and long term projects.
Responsibility is important for projects, but obviously it is necessary to check with superiors before doing anything potentially damaging to the company.
The technical assistance was very useful for the actual job, less so for my degree, mostlybecause the company uses proprietary software.
The Company
Possibly one of the best aspects of the whole experience, the environment is fantastic. People are smart, prepared and willing to help. The atmosphere is one of dedication and professionalism, but it is usually a happy and cheerful environment.
Really well organized. We did not only assist on day to day work but also had our own dedicated intern projects.
There was basic training for most of the software, but also a great chance to learn about the teams within the firm, coupled with inspirational breakfasts with senior managers.
Flexi Time
Financial Bonus
Working from home
Healthcare/Dental
Very appealing, great chance to progress within the firm and to move internally across countries and divisions.
The Culture
The cost of living is very high in London, and socialising is not extremely easy in such a large city, but nevertheless the salary is proprtional to the costs.
There are huge nightlife events in the area, not exactly next to the office, but a 10-15 min walk in any direction will find you a club/pub/social event.
