The Role
My internship was great. I was challenged in a lot of ways and pushed out of my comfort zone but that was what I really enjoyed
I was given a lot of responsibility from day one and was included in team discussion that went on where I felt my voice was as recognised as any other member of the team
The support was great. I had my manager who I had frequent catch ups with. I had a buddy who was a more junior member who I could ask any question of. I also had a mentor who helped support me in greater career decision making.
I was very busy. I worked 11-13 hour days and always had some job to get on with. I had my projects but I was also given a lot of work as it needed done.
A lot. But I was supported in the responsibility I was given and I wasn't expected to get it right first time. Giving me responsibility was part of the learning experience of how to deal with the many pressures
My degree is completely unrelated, so very little. But I have enjoyed a new confidence in my ability to learn new skills
The Company
Hard working but time to talk about things that weren't just work.
Very well organised. well thoughtout internship program
The company invested in me a lot, wither it was with the people they directed me to talk to or the amount of teaching they gave me.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare/Dental
Involves travel, bonus and a competitive salary along with very good promotion opportunities
The Culture
mostly. Some people kept themselves to themselves and the men tended to lead the way socially which often meant socialising as a woman was quite hard.
High. We were going to good restraunts and expensive bars. But easily covered by your salary.
Lots of bankers... but good so long as you knew the right places
If you wanted to. Usual thing of living in London - gym, culture, eating etc.
