The Role
Really enjoyed my internship at Delcam; got to work on real world projects in the advanced manufacturing facility and use of a high end optical scanning robot
Feel work completed contributed towards key projects
Everyone in company is more than willing to dedicate time if you require help or explanations
Work load varies but there was never a time where I had nothing to do
Completely trusted to carry out tasks without supervision using expensive equipment. Some key tasks were required to meet harsh deadlines
Was able to improve my project management with involvement in many projects simultaneously. Could apply my programming, design and manufacturing skills obtained from university
The Company
Very relaxed company with people always willing to help
Organisation of placement coordinators is great. Knew my role from day one and had a good summer
As I was there for only a summer it was hard to develop anything major. I learnt substances amounts about GD&T and metrology whilst working in the manufacturing environment
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Great company and will hopefully return in future
The Culture
Climbing club is especially good but overall very active to pubs and social events
Birmingham is pretty cheap for rent, key locations are Moseley and Solihull, both have great nightlife and social scene
See above
