The Role
I enjoyed my placement at Renault. Not only did I work with a friendly and helpful team, but the responsibilities given to me have really helped my understanding and allowed me to apply my theory learnt at university into practice. I really feel I have developed my skills to an exceptional level.
I felt very valued my by colleagues. Not only did I have the chance to work with the Marketing team but I also had good communications with other departments, such as sales and accounts which has enhanced my networking skills. In addition I felt everyone was very friendly and offered me support in my role.
My manager worked with me in the office, which was extremely beneficial as she was always there to offer me helping hand. She supported me and guided me through my role and always scheduled in meetings to check on my progress.
I was extremely busy on a daily basis. The role required excellent time management skills as there was a lot to do. Even on the quiet days we always had something to do.
I was given a lot of responsibility. My manager had made me first point of contact for when she was away enabling me to manage and motivate the team and make sure everything was okay. I was given the opportunity to engage in a wide range of different tasks thought my placement.
I have developed a lot of skills. My communication and customer service skills will help me in my future career especially. Going into final year will require me to have excellent time management skills, i feel my placement has helped me to monitor this by keeping schedules and making plans.
The Company
I worked with a motivated, friendly and welcoming team. This made the atmosphere in the office very comfortable, and enjoyable.
It was very well organised. I had clear direction of the roles I was undertaking and knew who to contact for any queries or questions. The communication within the organisation was good.
I received personal training by my manager to ensure I was confident with the responsibility and roles to be undertook on a daily basis. I was also taught how to develop a CPD, to monitor my development and look for ways to enhance my skills.
Financial Bonus
Very good, i was a credible internship and have made great networks across Renault. In addition i have constant communication with my manager.
The Culture
Yes, me and my team made great friends so we used to go out and enjoy a social life too. There was other people on placement too which was great as we had a lot in common.
I lived at home (with my family) in London therefore did not really pay much towards cost of living whilst I was working and socialising costs in London are expensive but very worth it. My family have only recently moved to London.
London nightlife is great! It is expensive however a great experience and there are some lovely places to visit. I also feel that London was a great opportunity to meet people. As I was new to the area (as my family have only recently moved to London) it was great meeting new people and my placement helped me to make friends.
Yes, I joined the gym in my area which was great and i really enjoyed it. Also near my workplace there was lots of eating areas, cinema and bowling. Across london there was lots to do and lots to see which made my socialising life very enjoyable too.
