The Role
I enjoyed my internship very munch as I was given a true insight to what actuarial work is like. My colleagues were extremely friendly and supportive which was especially helpful when coming across something I had not done before. I also enjoyed taking part in the CSR project that I was given and found it particularly rewarding.
I felt I was a valued member of the team as my colleagues were always searching for work for me to do. They were very supportive when I had any questions which made me feel more comfortable in the office.
I was given a lot of guidance and support and everyone was very approachable if I had any questions.
I feel I had a good balance in workload, especially as I had a CSR project to complete.
I was given a fair amount of responsibilty as I was entrusted with performing important calculations.
I feel I have developed a great many skills at Aon that are transferable to many aspects of my education and career. The fundamental training I have received has been very good.
The Company
The atmosphere was friendly but also professional, which gave me a good insight into what was expected of me as a Summer Intern
The internship was well structured and there was always something for me to do, be it actuarial work or my project.
I feel that the company invested in me a great deal as they allowed 3 days of induction at the beginning to give us some basic training and to introduce us into the company.
Company Parties/Events
I would be very happy working with Aon in the future as I enjoyed the friendly office atmosphere and the support I received from it.
The Culture
Staff socials were organised quite regularly and there was ample opportunity for me to get to know my team.
The cost of living and socialising in the are I worked in was not great as I live 5 minutes from the office.
There are various pubs and bars in harrow so the nightlife was good.
As part of my CSR project I was able to aid a charity which was very enjoyable.
