About You
Very useful to get to know the firm and to see if i would see myself there.
i felt that i got involved in useful work and not menial work experience jobs. The work challenged me which was great.
i had a great support system from the trainee to the partner in the team.
I developed drafting skills and communication skills, these will be invaluable in the future.
The Company
there was a great structure to the whole week. Mini project all week as well as other work from team.
very welcoming and friendly
they made sure that i was learning and that i had a good time. time was invested in me for sure. extra effort was made to make sure i was comfortable and gained something from the week.
it was very helpful in this extent and made me very motivated to apply for the training contract. made me understand the level of work that trainees undertake at the firm which really impressed me.
i learn more about the brand and what the firm stands for and saw this in practice. all of the employees seemed very happy and in line with the brand which showed that the firm delivers on what they promise and promote as their brand
very valuable, i knew i wanted to apply and work at the firm. i was so impressed by the level of quality work but at the same time the ability to maintain a work life balance.
Everything Else
i was paid £250 a week and think that this was a really great thing and in line with the general practice of law firms on the market of this size. it also made you feel lilke you were there to undertake real work and not menail jobs tha twere just allocated because you were work experience. I was very impressed that we were paid. I suspect the amount is higher now with inflation etc.
yes i attended a networking new friday event which was organised by the trainees in the firm. it was great fun and was such a good way to get involved with the firm. i was also taken on a tour of the office which was a great way to see more of the place and to meet more people.
new friday event which is a networking event for local businesses and companies. great to make useful contacts, and fun! it was such a greta coincidence for me to apply and there be an event like this in the first week of the vacation scheme i attended. it was such a great way to see what the firm does out of work hours.
yes sports and networking events, there are also regular after friday drinks that are good for team bonding. there are also a lot of additional pro bono opportunities which make a real difference to the community and make sure that the firm is known in the local market.
yes for sure, it was a great week and i learnt a lot from it. it also was a great addition to my cv and was a great way to get my name out in the firm. i think that the firm is a great place to work and that the right people for the firm thrive here. I cannot recommend this placement enough to my peers or people looking for a career in law.
