The Role
The placement was very enjoyable, you're given projects from the outset with meaningful and challenging tasks.
Everyone is extremely friendly and happy to answer any questions you may have, whether they are directly responsible for you or not people are happy to help.
There are inevitably slow and busy days but for the majority of the time you are at a steady balance.
A considerable amount of responsibility, I had to manage my own project and make sure things get done. But ultimately answering to my supervisor for any major decisions.
The Company
The atmosphere is very friendly and people are up for a laugh but also know when to be serious and get stuff done.
The first two weeks is all training and then if they feel you need training on a specific bit of software then they will arrange it for you.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
The Culture
The social scene outside of work is good, there are many other young people who work at the company and there is always something to do at the weekends.
House rental prices aren't too bad and in terms of bars and pubs it varies a lot on price as with anywhere.
They're located in Birmingham so the nightlife is good, there are many options and places to go.
There are many company subsidized clubs, including a climbing club and a running club. Over the first couple of weeks there are many socials subsidized by work.
