The Role
I enjoyed the work I carried out, but did not enjoy the long commute to work.
Everyone was very welcoming and gave me lots of guidance in the work I did.
I was given a buddy who supported me throughout the internship. My line manager also gave me regular feedback sessions with helpful feedback to help me improve.
Towards the beginning of the internship I was limited in the work I could carry out. However, towards the end of the internship I had a full day of work to do each day.
I had the same responsibility as a joining graduate.
Although it won't assist me with my degree studies, it has been invaluable for my future career.
The Company
Everyone was friendly, but there was limited social interaction outside of office hours.
I was not told which office I would be working in until the morning I started. The people in my department did not seem prepared to have an intern.
They have offered me plenty of training in my chosen career.
Subsidised Canteen
They decide at the end of the internship whether they will offer the interns a job.
The Culture
Although we got on well, there was limited interaction with the other interns.
Whilst I did not live near my placement, the area close to it was very expensive.
I imagine it was very good, but because I lived faraway I didn't experience the nightlife.
About one opportunity a fortnight.
