The Role
I enjoyed the work.
They always expressed gratitude for my work and gave me more responsibility than I was expecting.
People who gave me work were very helpful and patient. Everyone I worked with was approachable, even regarding work that they had not set me.
Whilst it varied slightly, most days I had sufficient work to keep me busy and I was not idle.
The work I did was important work that needed to be correct so I feel they gave me plenty of responsibility.
The work I did during the internship does not relate to my (mathematics) degree. It will probably be useful in my future career though.
The Company
Very pleasant to work in. Not too pressured that it was uncomfortable to be in but not so relaxed that there was no motivation to do the work.
The charity project meant there was always something to do but occasionally there was no in office work.
I was taught a reasonable amount about calculating pensions and was given new Excel skills.
They are outsourcing a lot of their work to Budapest and Bangalore, reducing the number of graduate opportunities in the UK.
The Culture
There was a reasonable social scene amongst the employees and similarly amongst the interns.
Expensive.
Poor.
There were work socials and there would be time for other activities if you wanted.
