The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my placement got to work with some great people and learnt a lot over the course of the year.
Felt very valued as part of the team, was as if i'd been there working for years and was integrated into every part of the working environment.
Great support from management both socially and work related, very keen to help and point you in the right direction. Keen to help with any issue.
At the start i wasn't that busy on the project but that soon picked up and i had tasks to do for the whole working shift. Was just the right amount to keep me on my toes, and wasn't changed just because i was a placement student
Was given as much responsability as everyone else on the team, i had my own areas of expertice which i had to look after.
I learn many new skills which i had not previously had before starting the placementr, and developed upon thoes that were exisiting. I was given the oppertunity to become certified in the technology (Ab-Initio) which i was using.
The Company
Nice laid back atmosphere everyone was friendly and plenty of banter. Many sports/social events arranged. Such as lunchtime football and staff nights out.
No problems at all had plenty of induction and the like set up in advance and had already been structured before we arrived.
The company invested in me as i was any other member of staff, got to go on plenty of different courses and became certified in the main technology i was using.

The Culture
Not as much up North as i was the only placement student up i Manchester, but there were events arranged throught ut the year such as the ball, and various placement days out.
Pretty decent pricing nothing over the top reallly. Salary covered everything i needed.
Great area in didsbury plenty of bars in the village and within walking distance of the office. Quick and easy to get into manchester too.
Plenty of oppertunities organised by the sports/social club such as football, and concerts.
