The Role
Throughout my placement I have been involved in a variety of jobs within my one role that has meant I can develop both professionally and personally at Danone.
Despite working with a range of people of various levels of seniority, I felt respected in my work at Danone and valued for the contribution I made.
My manager worked closely with me to create a progress plan that I could act on from day one. This meant that I was supported in training programmes as well as directed in how I could go further.
My role varied largely with tasks which meant that some days I was incredibly busy and other times I needed to look for work to do, but this meant that I could be self-directed at work.
This too varied, but some projects were largely important to the business and my contribution was valued here. A lot of the tasks I was given were independent and I would need to complete them without others' help, so felt that I had a lot of responsibility.
I am yet to complete my placement and so have not been able to transfer these skills. However, the training I have received so far and the development I plan to make in the remainder of the year will be easily applicable in my final year at university. Particularly now I have defined the career path I want to make, the skills I have built at Danone will support me in developing this in the future.
The Company
I was surprised that coming to work everyday would be so fun, but everyone in the office is approachable and positive but professional in their roles. There are also a lot of opportunities to socialise with colleagues outside of work that makes the atmosphere very relaxed and enjoyable.
The handover at the beginning of my placement was very thorough and outlined the tasks and responsibilities I would be taking on. However, I have also worked with my manager in further defining these and improving efficiency at work to make this placement role as valuable as possible- both to the student and Danone.
Danone have always ensured that I am pushing myself in my work and I have attended training sessions with my team and individually to improve skills such as presentation skills and iri and Kantar training. This company considers all of its employees as assets but also wants to help them in self-development.

Working from home
Very- working at Danone has been a great experience and future employment here is very appealing.
The Culture
I lived at home in Kent during my placement so my travel was very expensive but socialising around Ealing was always standard pricing and considerably cheaper, compared with other areas in London.
