The Role
My team were very helpful and really lovely people to work with. The internship process was very smooth and I enjoyed it a lot. Provided you work hard you will go far.
My colleagues really valued my help. I worked hard and it was appreciated.
My Line Manager was super helpful whenever I didn't understand a task.
Usually a nice balance of work. Occasionally deadlines would all pile up and I would have lots to do but that is to be expected in any work place
I was given a lot of responsibility, being in control of a large program of 'quality plans'. I also got to conduct an audit with my line manager which is a big responsibility.
the skills I picked up were not useful for my degree. They were extremely useful for my career however. I learned a lot about the skills involved in working for a large company and it was invaluable experience for my next job.
The Company
Everyone was very happy all the time and there were plenty of laughs and jokes.
The recruitment team had the occasional hiccup but once I actually got to the internship it was very organised.
there was plenty of training courses available and I had a personal development meeting every week to see if i needed help and what directions I should be pushing in next.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
very appealing. I have been offered a graduate scheme with Rolls-Royce and I plan to take it. They are always looking for people to bring new ideas to the company and a new outlook on the problems they are facing
The Culture
Most of the summer interns were living in a local halls of residence and there were lots of parties and drinks etc.
cost of living was extremely reasonable.
there were plenty of pubs and clubs just down the road. Very good Nightlife.
plenty of things to do outside of work including sports, team meals and charity work.
