The Role
So far, I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement at GRB. I have been given loads of responsibility and a variety of fun and challenging tasks. I have also had the chance to gain invaluable knowledge about the graduate market which has put me at a great advantage for when I enter the graduate market myself.
Since the get go I felt like a valued part of the GRB team and was treated like everyone else, no just the 'placement student'.
The management team at GRB are very welcoming and understanding. I have had several meetings with the office manager and the marketing director which allow me to express any concerns or anything I would like learn to do within the business. When working as a resourcer I had weekly meetings with the managing consultant of the team I was working for which allowed them to track my progress and give me any necessary advice or recognition.
Every day is different - sometimes I am really busy and other days, less.
I was given loads of responsibility from day one - which is something I had said I was looking for in the role in my first interview with GRB.
So far I have learnt and improved on a variety of skills. These include communication skills (both verbally and written), organisational skills, attention to detail, basic HTML, the ability to meet and exceed targets and most importantly it has developed my confidence in the work place. I feel like this experience will extremely useful when I leave University and start looking for my first graduate job and was also be useful for my final year of study at University.
The Company
Most of the time the office is very upbeat, with a generally happy and friendly working environment. However, sometimes it can get a bit tense as it gets closer to the end of each month as everyone is working hard towards their targets.
I think it has been very well organised so far ( I am about to go into my 6th month here). However, it still hasn't been fully decided as to which department I will go into next. This is not an issue for me and I know that where I go depends on the business needs and I like that it means their are opportunities for me to have a say in where I was like to work next.
I have received excellent training and development and lots of support throughout my time here.

The opportunity to come back and work for GRB are very open and positive. They have already said that I can extend the placement over Summer too if I want to. There are also opportunities for me to get a graduate role with one of GRBs client as I am sure they would be willing to help me with any application processes.
The Culture
Every Friday the office closes early and we all go to the pub (this is optional). They also put on regular events for the whole company - In summer we went to play volleyball on the beach and had a BBQ and the Christmas we have a big do coming up! If your team hits and exceeds their target then you have opportunity to qualify for GRB to put £50 per heads towards and outing of your teams choice.
Rent in Brighton is pricey but the salary more than covers this plus extra for socialising. Rent is usually around £100-£120 a week plus bills on top which is around £30-£50 a month. Student nights out during the week are quite cheap but going out on weekends can be a lot more expensive.
The night life in Brighton in amazing! There is something out there for everyone to enjoy.
There are tons of activities in Brighton to get involved in! I am currently a member of the gym and Uni Choir but don't have time for much else at the moment.
