The Role
Some parts of the work were interesting, but at other times the work was a little mundance and I didn't feel as though I was developing the skills that I wanted to.
I felt part of the team, and was given feedback on work that I did. I could have been given a bit more direction and given a role that I could take ownership of.
Good support most of the time. Could have sometimes been given more direction. Often found that I was switching between different tasks so couldn't get 'stuck into' a particular one. But there was an attempt to give me interesting and useful work some of the time.
Most of the time I had either too little, or too much to do. I either had no emails and few assigned tasks, or sometimes over 100 emails a day when working on a proposal. I didn't really have one piece of work that was consistant throughout the project that I could delevop at my own pace.
I was given responsibility in some areas, but no real role that required me to invoke rigorous independent thought on behalf of the team, nor any role which another memeber of the team could not have done themselves.
Apart from the training week, where we were given the chance to run a mini project ourselves, and a charity day that required us to plan an event ourselves, there were not many chances to formulate an idea and practice developing it into a workable solution. Looking back on my placement, apart from increasing my skills in MS Office programs (through mainly independent endeavours), improving my business manner / networkikng abilities and managing my own workload, I don't feel as though I have developed many 'skills for life' that will assist me in my degree and beyond.
The Company
Very good team atmosphere. Friendly, lots of social events. 'Get the job done and have a nice time doing it' attidude. Little or no stress or dispute. Not so much drive / ambition to progress things - more of a happy how things are attitude.
Excelent organisatoin. Lots of socials, lots of oportunities to get involved with and learn about the company. Brilliant.
I feel as though the whole internship was a personal training and development exercise prepping us for a graduate position, so in that respect the company invested in all the interns a great deal.

Company Parties/Events
Great company, if you want to do consulting - the best! But in the short - medium term it is not what I want to do.
The Culture
