The Role
Really enjoyed the work I did and enjoyed working on the team I was in.
Although I was only an intern they said that the work I was doing was very useful and of a high standard. Had concerns beforehand that I was just be given a pointless task to do but that definetly was not the case.
Manager was always encouraging and supportive. Only issue was that I was never given any negative feedback which I guess is a good thing but if I am doing things wrong or could do them better I'd prefer they tell me in order to help me improve.
The level of work I had was reasonable, I managed to complete all tasks given to me in time schedule required without getting overly stressed or feeling likeI was doing nothing.
Although only an intern I was given individual projects and had to present my findings which are being taken forward.
Although I am not back at university yet I can see that what I have done on my placement will help me. I have developed computer skills as well as communication skills which will stand me in good stead.
The Company
Everyone was friendly.
very well set up with lots of opportunities to do different things available.
Gave us opportunities to present as well as attend finance academies and other events to further knowledge and development.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I am hopeful that I will get offered a graduate job as I have enjoyed it but there is nothing definite at the minute.
The Culture
Great social scene with other interns. Weekends are always fun! We usually have lunch together aswell.
Being based in Edinburgh beforehand I tend to know the best student places to go so prices are reasonable.
I have always enjoyed the nightlife in Edinburgh.
There were some opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work like playing softball and attending post-work drinks.
