About You
This was very enjoyable. The members of the firm were helpful, polite and sociable. They were easy to talk to and happy to chat about more than just law and applications, which was really nice.
I felt as though the trainees had a personal interest in me. The graduate recruiter, Sarah was lovely: really smiley and happy to answer any questions, however stupid they seemed.
Although there was some guidance as to application forms, I felt as though a lot of it were things that either could be found on the website or could be inferred from it. The real help was in obtaining a feel for the firm and for its members.
A very useful opportunity to network and to improve on group work and presentation skills, the kind which are useful in an assessment centre. It helped to crystallise certain problem areas of my thought process and hopefully this will come in handy.
The Company
Very well structured.
Everyone was happy, friendly and ready to help and join in with speaking to us and to each other. You never felt like they were waiting to rush back to their desks.
Obviously, it was only one day, but the feedback given for the group exercise was really useful and quite pointed. It was very nice to hear some things that I could improve on and I think a lot of time was put into listening to us.
They made it seem very fun, and I hope it's like that even after the visitors leave.
I am left wanting to apply to their vacation scheme, and I can only hope I get not it!
Everything Else
There was a networking and drinks event at the end.
Fairly standard I would say, but with a great view over London which we all appreciated as the sun went down.
Yes, I was particularly interested in that. All the trainees seemed pretty involved in pro-Bono work and CSR and I spoke to one who was enthusiastic about the atmosphere of the gym that a lot of trainees used.
Yes! Absolutely.
