The Role
I really enjoyed my placement in the campaigns team. I was given lots of exciting projects and an incredible variety of work. My manager gave me real responsibilities very early on in the placement which allowed me to learn quickly and use my initiative. The team were friendly, welcoming and inclusive. I met lots of great people and felt very supported during the internship.
I felt very valued by my colleagues, especially during the campaigns month. I was frequently given the opportunity to take on more responsibility and I felt that my work was making a difference to the team.
I was given enough guidance by my manager and I felt very supported by my intern co-ordinator. I always knew who to ask for help. Leading projects gave me the chance to figure problems out for myself, without needed to rely on guidance from my manager.
At the beginning of my internship I was very busy. It was a really exciting start to the internship. I often finished work late and worked through lunch, but it was a fantastic experience to be part of such a fast-paced campaign.
I have been given lots of responsibility including planning and delivering two fundraising events.
The skills I have developed include organisation, communication and project management. This experience has helped me to develop many other skills which will help me greatly when applying for other jobs.
The Company
The atmosphere was very friendly and warm. Everyone is willing to chat about their job roles, give advice to new starters and help where they can.
The internship was very well organised and structured, ensuring I had a great experience and developed multiple new skills. For example, there was a CV workshop and an opportunity to deliver a presentation.
I feel that the organisation invested in me as I completed training, attended events and was given the opportunity to deliver a presentation to a group of colleagues.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
There is no guarantee of a job at this organisation in the future and positions are very competitive.
The Culture
There was a great social scene with other interns, including weekly drinks after work, an end of placement meal and multiple intern fundraising events.
The cost of socialising in this area is very high. Travel and lunch are reimbursed by the organisation (up to £4 for lunch and £60 for travel).
Nice cocktail bars and lots of restaurants.
There were many opportunities to volunteer at work events
