About You
I really enjoyed the day - there was a good mix of workshops and talks, and the group was relatively small which meant there was plenty of opportunity to network with lawyers at all stages of their careers at Baker and McKenzie.
It was only an Open Day, so hard to say, but everyone was very friendly and helpful. There was a really nice feeling to the whole London office.
There were trainees on hand throughout all the tasks to answer questions and offer guidance which was very helpful. Tasks were well explained and well timed, so that we had to work quickly in order to complete each activity.
The commercial awareness and negotiation skills sessions in particular were very useful.
The Company
Very well structured, the day had a natural progression to it.
Generally very good and upbeat!
Again, it was only a one day event, but I felt the company was genuinely interested in us.
Talking to trainees over lunch was the best way to understand the culture.
Opening talk from the graduate recruitment partner really explained the ethos of Baker and McKenzie.
I am already set on a career in commercial law, but it is always useful to gain insight into different firms.
Everything Else
Baker & McKenzie reimburse travel expenses up to £100.
Over lunch and during office tours in particular.
Really good, probably down to the slightly smaller numbers of students attending the Open Day and the fact that lots of lawyers came to the lunch.
During the Life of a Trainee question and answer session.
Yes absolutely.
