The Role
I have had an amazing time working with a great team of people as the PR Assistant for PlayStation UK (Sony Computer Entertainment UK). I have enjoyed every second of my work placement and my time with the company will prove to be invaluable in my future.
I have been extremely lucky to have worked with such great people. I have always felt valued by my team, both in PR and across the marketing department as a whole. I feel comfortable with my managers- comfortable enough to ask questions when needed and I am never afraid to tell them that I'm stuck or need some advice etc. They have been a great help to me, and I can honestly say that i feel I have learnt from the best!
Constant support, guidance and advice were always given by my managers and colleagues. I was never left feeling unsure and always happy to hear from them of any areas of which I can improve.
Public relations never stops - that is definitely something I have learnt whilst working for PlayStation UK. In fact, a multinational company cannot stop. I was always kept busy, from smaller tasks to the planning and running of big events, I always had something to be getting on with. This was something I loved. Tasks on a daily basis were always set out for us. We knew what we doing and what we needed to get done by certain deadlines etc. I was never bored and feel that my work load was always manageable.
I was given a good amount of responsibility during my placement. I hope that my managers and colleagues felt that they could trust me and that I could manage tasks that I was set, without needing supervision or support. As example of this, at many events I was to ''look after' journalists, showing them where they needed to be and monitoring who was where etc.
I will relish the skills I have developed and acquired. I have learnt a lot about myself, both my strengths and weaknesses and how I manage/should manage particular situations. The training I have received has equipped me for my future career in the world of PR. I have worked alongside PR and marketing professionals. I have learnt from the best!
The Company
The office is a fun and happy place to work in. Communication, both spocial and work related is constant and there are always laughs being had!
Very well organised. I felt one of the team at all times and was never left feeling 'the bit on the side.'
There were various training courses I could have attended and did attend on various occassions - it was just a matter of taking time out of my daily duties!

I would love to work for the company again in the future. Expecially within the UK team as I have made some friends for life whilst on my placement year. I will keep in touch and, if a job does come up then I will apply without a doubt!
The Culture
There was one other intern at PlayStation UK (Marketing Assistant). We are good friends and work well together as well as with the rest of the team.
London is expensive. Luckily, I live at home whilst on my placement. I pay rent to my parents but it is not as much as the other placement students who were living in London were paying for their flats etc! The cost of socialising in London is also expensive, but its worth it!
Great fun! Being on Oxford Street means that the fun never stops!
Lots of activities and oppourtunities!
